What We Believe

We believe in One God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus came in human form, born of a virgin and is fully human and fully divine.

We believe in Jesus as the only way to God. We believe we have broken this relationship separating us from God.

We believe Jesus restored this relationship through his death and resurrection. This is the only way back to God.

We believe that the Bible is awesome, inspired by God and we find life in it.

We believe it’s our role to help others love Jesus more through words and actions.

We believe God created us to have relationship with Him and He loves to speak to us.

We believe God loves every person He created, and we are called to live out the same.

We believe the Holy Spirit is in every follower of Jesus and He empowers us to live the abundant life.

We believe if people don’t want God (choosing not to receive Jesus) they choose eternity without Him.

We believe that Jesus invites all His followers to be baptised as instructed by Jesus.

We believe in a new heaven and earth where we will live together with God and each other as God originally intended.

Marriage

Broadmead offers pastoral support and preparation for couples seeking a Christ-centred marriage, within the church’s broader calling to care for and disciple people at every life stage.

Marriage

The Bible tells us that “A man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh” Genesis 2:24?

 Three keys…

1 –Leaving
A man grows up and forms a new household independent from his parents.

2 –Cleaving / being united
He forms a committed, covenant relationship with his wife — a deep bond of loyalty and intimacy.

3 –Becoming “one flesh”
This refers to unity in every dimension: emotional, spiritual, relational, and physical.

It describes marriage as a profound joining of lives.

You can start a conversation with the team via the contact page.

Baptism

As a Baptist church, Broadmead practices believers’ baptism—a public declaration for those who have personally put their trust in Jesus.

Baptism

Baptism is celebrated within the church family as a sign of new life in Christ and belonging to His people, alongside the Lord’s Supper as a regular pattern of discipleship.

Believer’s baptism is a Christian practice in which a person who has personally trusted in Jesus Christ (a believer) is baptised as a public expression of their faith. It’s an outward expression of an inward act of repentance.

It is…

1 – Baptism for believer

“Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day” Acts 2:41

2 – Public declaration of faith

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, ”and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” Romans 10:9

3 – Symbolised in union with Jesus’ death and resurrection (dying to self and being made alive in Christ)

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life” Romans 6:4

If you’re considering baptism, speak to a leader on a Sunday, contact the office or click here to join our next baptism group. The team can arrange preparation and help you share your story with friends, family, and the church.

Communion

Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is part of Broadmead’s regular worship life, together with preaching, prayer, and mission.

Communion

Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is part of Broadmead’s regular worship life, together with preaching, prayer, and mission.

All who have repented and put their faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour are invited to share in the breaking of bread and drinking wine (juice) as we remember His death and resurrection and express our unity in Him. This sits alongside believers’ baptism as a core practice within our Baptist identity.

We share Communion within our Sunday pattern of gathered worship normally on the third Sunday of the month
