A Word From the Pastor

Right from its earliests days, Broadmead has been a church with a mission.  The land on which the present buildings stand was given to the Baptists of Northampton in the 1920's by the property developer who was building the houses in the area.  It was to provide a Christian presence in the new community that was then springing up.  To start with the work mainly focused on children and at one point there were 240 children and 24 adults!  They had ambitious plans for the buildings but the depression and the war limited what was built.

The church today seeks to build on this heritage of mission, ministering to children and commitment to being an energising presence in the local community.  In 2010 we are celebrating 20 years of Samuels Christian Nursery where more than a thousand local children have received quality pre-school education with Christian foundations.  This year we are also looking to develop our buildings so that they are better suited to serve both church and community.  Our members serve Christ both at home and abroad in a wide variety of roles.  Currently we have members serving on three continents, living as disciples of Jesus in a very different and challenging environments.

We have reached an exciting chapter in the life of the church.  We are convinced that we need to help each other develop our walk with God so that we can Love God, Love People and Love His World.  We invite you to consider sharing with us on the journey.
