Who We Are

Broadmead is a lively evangelical church of 150+ adults with many children and young people. We seek to be Bible-based, Spirit-led, and culturally relevant. The church has developed an informal style of teaching and worship that gives room for many different styles..

We believe that Christ called us to make disciples, therefore we encourage our members and congregation to work this out at home, at work and at play.  We also have ministries that help people to address issues in their lives which can be hang ups, habits or hurts..

We seek to encourage individuals to use the gifts God has given them and find a way to serve God in line with their gifting. We believe leadership at all levels of the church is best done in teams.

The Church was formed in 1932 as a mission to a new housing development on the east side of Northampton. We still have a missionary emphasis that now extends much further afield, at present including Africa, South America, Eastern Europe and the Muslim world.

Our local focus for prayer and action is the Eastfield Ward in Northampton and the NN3 area immediately around it. Our aim is to be light and salt amongst the local community. We run Samuels, a pre-school nursery offering quality early years education, a Money Advice Centre and Celebrate Recovery.

We encourage participation in cells groups where we focus on building one another up so that we can be released into service - we value the contribution of everyone.

We actively seek the transformation of our town and nation through prayer and action in conjunction with other branches of Christ's church in Northampton. We are affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance, the Baptist Union and the Willow Creek Association of Churches. We are part of the Alpha initiative and run courses from time to time.
